I lead a portfolio of CHS research and analytical work on post-conflict reconstruction and recovery. This includes projects examining the fundamental elements of post-conflict recovery, governance after conflict, and pathways to reconstruction across the Arab region.
I am the Principal Investigator of a three-year research project titled Rethinking the “Day After”: Post-war Reconstruction of the Gaza Strip, funded by the Qatar National Research Fund. The project, running from October 2025 to September 2028, examines pathways for governance, recovery, and reconstruction in Gaza following the 7 October War.
I lead an independent research initiative on higher education in conflict-affected contexts. Since 2022, my primary focus has been writing Higher Education in the Arab Region: Resilience, Rebuilding, and Recovery (forthcoming, Cambridge University Press).
Since 2016, I have overseen the production of analytical outputs for a range of governmental, intergovernmental, and non-governmental clients. This work has included conflict analysis reports, literature reviews, policy papers, and high-level editorial support.
